Description

A sizzling, fragrant Thai restaurant-style dish with ground chicken, spicy chilies, and aromatic fresh basil. Ready in 20 minutes, this quick meal is packed with bold flavors and perfect for family dinners or leftovers.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs ground chicken
1 red bell pepper, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves (or 1/4 cup Italian basil)
2 Thai chilies or 1 tsp red pepper flakes, chopped
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Steamed jasmine rice (for serving)

Instructions

Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat
Add chicken and sauté until browned and nearly cooked through
Add garlic and chilies, sauté 1-2 minutes until fragrant
Stir in bell pepper and cook 3 minutes until tender
Add soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar, stir to coat
Remove from heat, toss in basil leaves just until wilted
Serve immediately over hot rice

Notes

Use lean ground chicken breast for lower fat
For non-halal versions, ensure fish sauce is vegetarian-friendly
Thai basil adds authentic flavor – substitute with Italian basil if unavailable
