Description

A fast, family-friendly Chinese-American dish with savory soy, oyster, and hoisin sauce, cooked ground beef, chewy noodles, and crunchy vegetables. Ready in 30 minutes with pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (85/15 lean-to-fat ratio)
8 oz lo mein noodles or spaghetti
2 cups shredded cabbage
1 cup shredded carrots
1 red bell pepper, sliced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
2 tbsp water
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Boil noodles in salted water until al dente; drain.
Heat sesame oil in a large pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
Add ground beef, cook until browned and crispy.
Stir in cabbage, carrots, and red bell pepper; cook 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
Mix in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and black pepper.
Return drained noodles to the pan, tossing until evenly coated. Adjust seasoning.

Notes

Use ground turkey for a lighter option.
Substitute spaghetti if lo mein noodles are unavailable.
Add broccoli or snap peas for extra crunch.
Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 3-4 days.
